South View High School Marching Tigers
...Eyes, With Pride
The South View High School Marching Tigers have been a highly competitive marching band from Hope Mills, North Carolina for over fifteen years. With numbers that have reached over 300 members in the past, the band has entertained crowds at South View High School and other areas since the school's inception.
The Marching Tigers have had a long tradition of competing often during the Fall of every school year. Mr. Jay Bolder (former SVHS band director) finally took the band to the competitive level of marching band beginning in 1994. Since then, the Marching Tigers are known throughout North Carolina as one of the top groups winning multiple grand champion trophies and numerous first place trophies in every category. The band room is filled with awards showing student success and hard work that has gone into the program.
Under the direction of Mr. Matthew Jorgensen from 2011-2016, the Marching Tigers remained a superior group winning grand champion trophies at both the Marching Eagle Classic at Western Harnett High School and also at the 32nd Annual Brick Capital Classic at Lee Senior High School. The band also claimed Grand Champions at the 2013 Pinecrest Band Fest. In the 2013-2014 season, the Marching Tigers won Grand Champion Trophies at the Southeast Raleigh HS Bulldog Band Bash and the the South Columbus Stallion Classic.
