Current Winter Percussion News

The South View High School Winter Percussion Ensemble, formed in 2012, has experienced recent success on the AIA Circuit. Competing int he PSRA Class in 2013, the SVWPE won a silver medal at the 2013 Atlantic Indoor Association Finals beating out 7 other units in the class. It was the first time the group has made it to finals and also received a medal. Winter Percussion generally begins in January and lasts all the way through the first week of April. Winter Percussion is NOT restricted to just percussion students.

2019 Show: Left Brain Right Brain

2016 Show: Mechanize

The 2016 South View High School Winter Percussion Ensemble has gotten under way. The group enjoyed much success on the season taking third place at Clayton High School in PSRA and being promoted to PSA. Then, the group took second place at Western Harnett and second place at N. Johnston. The group took fourth place at AIA Finals in Raleigh, NC.

2015 Show: Anarchy!

The 2015 South View High School Winter Percussion Ensemble re-established as a performing ensemble after a one year leave. The group returned to AIA with success placing second at the North Johnston HS competition and fifth at AIA Finals in the PSRA class.

2013 Show: Spy City

The 2013 South View High School Winter Percussion Ensemble far exceeded expectations placed in front of them. In only their second year on the AIA Circuit, the group won a silver medal at the 2013 AIA Finals in Raleigh, NC in the PSRA Class.

2012 Show: FEAR

 Beginning in 2012, the South View High School Winter Percussion Ensemble began competing in the Atlantic Indoor Association circuit for competitions.

Presenting their 2012 show entitled "FEAR" the group traveled to competitons at both Cary High School and Ledford High School before competiting in the AIA Finals at Broughton High School in Raleigh. The group far exceeded expecatations for their first year performing.
